Much of the philosophy behind ShareFest, an event which actually began in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1998 but now has several expressions in different cities throughout the United States, came from the book The Church of Irresistible Influence. Here is one quote from the book which should prove inspiring as we consider ways to impact our community on October 22 and beyond:
Turning the face of the church outward, giving its resources away, blessing the community, unleashing the fits of laypeople to serve — this is what our living God desires for his church.
