Have you ever wanted to help hurting innocent children in your own local area? Have you ever been saddened by the reports of children neglected and abused by people who are supposed to love them and wished there was something you could do to make a difference in their lives?
Royal Family Kids’ Camp is a way for you to positively impact children who have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care in Santa Cruz and Monterey County.
Royal Family Kids’ Camp is a Christian based weeklong residential camp for boys and girls 7-11 years old in the foster care system. We are part of a national organization with 153 camps held annually in the U.S. and overseas. The ratio of one counselor for every two children ensures that each child is given the attention they desperately need and the love they deserve. This weeklong camp experience is powerful in boosting morale and healing the hearts and minds of these little ones who suffer so at the hands of abusive adults. They are shown they have hope and a future because of the power of God’s love.
Treated like members of a royal family, the children participate in arts and crafts, swimming, non-competitive sports, tea parties, talent shows, singing, campfires and “Everybody’s Birthday Party” (many of the children have never had a birthday party). The children go back to their foster homes with their own handmade quilts, photograph albums and a memory bag full of things they have made and a CD of the camp songs.
Royal Family Kids Camp of the Monterey Bay will again be held in June 2007. Our goal is to create positive memories for 42 children. In order to do this we will have to raise $35,000.
