Passion Outreach Update

by ChristianCruz Staff

New Beginnings, a local homegroup church located in the San Lorenzo Valley, hosted a forum on the film, “The Passion of the Christ” on March 12.  The event, held at the Felton Community Hall was part lecture, followed by a time of questions and answers for the community.

Several people representing the cultural climate of Santa Cruz came to investigate Christianity.  The atmosphere was relaxed and intellectually stimulating, as Pastor Ted Myer invited us inside his brain.  His unique journey in pondering the question, “Is it reasonable to believe in God?” encouraged other seekers to pursue this matter deeper and took them straight to the source of the matter, the Bible, as an accurate historical guide.

This forum was for the express purpose of providing people a safe enviroment in which to question God’s existence and any other stumbing blocks to faith. Pastor Myer commented, “We were excited to see people of diverse backgrounds come together and engage in seeking deeper, and experiencing that freedom of discourse in a refreshingly relaxed manner.”

Look for New Beginnings to host another community outreach in the fall about relationships.
