Noah’s Arc and Christian Surfers

by ChristianCruz Staff

Since 1987 there has been a consistent evangelical witness to Santa Cruz’ surfing culture.  This exciting move of God began as a surfers’ Bible study and that remains the cornerstone of the ministry as it has grown across the USA and throughout the world.

Locally, Christian Surfers Santa Cruz has two weekly surfers’ Bible studies.  Built upon that foundation is discipleship, evangelism and service.  Currently CS Santa Cruz is preparing for the largest coordinated outreach to Santa Cruz’ surf community ever seen.  The members of CS Santa Cruz welcome and enthusiastically invite local bible believing churches to join with them in these outreaches.

March 18th at 7:30 p.m.
FREE “Noah’s Arc” Christian surf movie at the Rio Theatre.

During the movie there will be a prayer room for people to pray for those watching the movie and the Gospel challenge following the movie.  Why not invite your pre-Christian surfing friends to come see a great surf movie? Also, CS Santa Cruz has some great posters and movie postcards which they would like business people from local churches to put up at their places of business.

March 19th
Christian Surfers United States contest series comes to Pleasure Point, Santa Cruz.

At the contest, the Gospel will be shared with about 125-150 people with a personal Gospel presentation - plans must be made in advance to help in that area.  CS Santa Cruz will also have a hospitality area at the contest where they will serve coffee and cookies/cakes.  Volunteers are needed to bake yummy treats for the competitors and spectators — this blesses the partakers and allows members of CS Santa Cruz to interact with them.  In addition, a crew is needed to help with serving lunch for 130 people.  It would also be amazing to have people go to Pleasure Point before or during the contest to pray for surfers — that the Lord would draw them to Himself.

Finally, CS Santa Cruz will follow up these events with an Easter basket outreach.  The week before Easter, they will be giving Easter baskets loaded with goodies to all of the surf shops in town.  Along with the goodies, the Easter baskets will have Gospels of John, comic surf tracts developed by CS, and invitations to local Easter services.

CS Santa Cruz operates as an extension of local churches.  All of their leaders are Christians, committed to a local church and devoted to serving. For questions about how to make an impact through participation or financial support of these events please contact Trevor Kendall, Christian Surfers US Western Coordinator, at 831.462.5410 or 831.566.2444 or via email at .
