New Graduate Psychology Studies at Bethany

by ChristianCruz Staff

Bethany College is expanding its academic horizons. A Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology has been launched and is currently enrolling students for its first cohort this fall.

The Masters in Clinical Psychology is regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It also is approved and listed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences, the licensing body for Marriage and Family Therapists in the state of California. It is a 2 year program designed to meet California’s educational requirements for MFT licensure. The curriculum is practical, diverse, personalized, and spiritually-sensitive. This program is the only accredited, Christian graduate program in psychology in the Monterey Bay area.

It has been a long held goal to add graduate programs at Bethany College, but only under the present administration of Bethany’s president, Dr. Máximo Rossi has the impetus been realized for this, Bethany’s second graduate program. The Masters in Clinical Psychology is under the leadership of Dr. Heather Kelly, licensed Psychologist and tenured professor. Plans also include a new facility for graduate studies and a counseling training center in Scotts Valley. This new program will have a lasting impact on the mental healthcare needs of many within the community and beyond.

For more information about the Open House or the Masters in Clinical Psychology, contact Dr. Heather Kelly at 831.438-3800, extension 1530.
