Churches across the county will be conducting Easter services. In addition to the “regular” Easter services, several churches will also be hosting special events on Good Friday and Easter. Continue to read this article for a listing of the special events of which we are aware.

Bilingual Good Friday Service
ShoreLife Community Church, Temple Naioth, and Centro Cristiano will be hosting a bilingual Good Friday service at Shorelife on March 25 at 7:00 p.m. The service will be preceded by a potluck dinner at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome! For more information, contact Bev at Shorelife at 831.462.7490.

Calvary Chapel Santa Cruz
Calvary Chapel Santa Cruz will be having an Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, March 27 at 6:30 a.m. at Twin Lakes State Beach (7th Ave., @ E. Cliff). The sunrise service will be followed by a baptism.

The Coastlands
The Coastlands will be presenting “Our Stories Told,” a dramatic presentation which tells portions of Christ’s life-story, as seen by an unusual array of witnesses. Performances are scheduled for Friday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26 at 5:00 and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 27 at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Coastlands advises discretion when bringing children to the performance service, recommending that children no younger than 7th grade attend. Childcare will be provided at all services.

The Coastlands will also be having a Good Friday service on March 25 at Noon and a Pancake Breakfast / Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26 (the pancake breakfast will take place from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., and the Easter Egg Hunt, for children of walking age through 5th Grade, will begin at 9:30 a.m.).

Congregational Church of Soquel
The Congregational Church of Soquel will have a Sunrise Worship service at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 27 at Capitola Beach.

Gateway Bible Church
Gateway Bible Church will be hosting a special Good Friday Communion Service on March 25 from 12:oo to 1:00 p.m.

Generations
Generations will be having a Good Friday service on Friday, March 25th from Noon to 1:00 p.m. This will be a time of thanksgiving and worship as the congregation celebrates the incredible gift of Jesus’ love and sacrifice.

Mountain Bible Church
In addition to their regular services, Mountain Bible Church will be joining Christ Child Catholic Church to have an Easter Sunrise Service and Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 27 beginning at 7:00 a.m. Those wishing to participate in the egg hunt are asked to RSVP to the church at 408.353.2302 so the church can make sure to have enough eggs for each child who participates!

New Beginnings
Join the folks from New Beginnings for a casual, outdoor celebration of God’s love and Jesus’ life on Sunday, March 27 at 11:00 am at the Johnson Farm. Bring your walking shoes, sunscreen and hat (if sunny), and an expectation for God to speak to you. Participants will spend some time walking together, singing, and thinking about Jesus’ life and death and what they might mean to each of us. Visit the New Beginnings website for more information.

New Hope
New Hope will be having a Good Friday Service on March 25 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. and an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26 at 9:00 a.m.

Sojourners Church
Sojourners Church will be showing the movie “The Passion” at 7:00 p.m. on Good Friday, March 25. They will also be hosting a Neighborhood Brunch/Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 27 at 11:30 a.m.

Twin Lakes Church
Twin Lakes Church will be hosting a special Good Friday Service at 7:30 p.m. on March 25.

Vintage Faith Church
On March 25 and 26, Vintage Faith Church will be holding their 2nd Annual Stations of the Cross Art Exhibit in the heart of downtown Santa Cruz. The Vintage Faith Gallery will have emerging and established artists displaying original work for this annual interactive outdoor public art exhibit exploring the journey of Jesus to the cross. The selected artists have created works which draw the ancient/historical events of Easter into a present day public discourse.
