“Donut Guys Downtown” Update!

by ChristianCruz Staff

Late last year, local believer Tony Dettle wrote us with a request for blankets that his small group could distribute to the homeless downtown.  Recently, Tony wrote to update us on their ministry:

Just wanted to up-date you all on what’s been happening downtown.  It’s been a couple of months now since myself and “the guys” in my men’s small group have been going downtown with donuts.

God has blessed us to be able to now take down brand new pairs of socks, watch caps, chap stick, wash cloths, and an occasional blanket or two when we can get them. Christmas Eve we were able to take down about 15 jackets (some looked brand new) along with whatever we had from the previous week. We are asking once again for the foloowing items.

If you can help that would be great.  If not, we would ask that you would continue to pray for all of us who are down there every Wednesday night. Special prayers for “Preacher Dan” and his wife Beverely, as they are faithful pillars down there. Also all those who man the soup and salad table. There’s about 4 different churches represented down town on Wednesday nights.

ITEMS NEEDED:

  • Bags of Tube Socks
  • Jackets
  • Blankets (Sleeping Bags would be really great!)
  • Knit Caps (Watch caps Black or Blue)
  • Long “one piece” underwear
  • Whatever else God has placed on your heart!
