Local believer Tony Dettle recently wrote us with a request:
“I am part of a men’s bible study group, which meets every Wednesday night, and has been meeting for several years. One of the guys works next to a donut shop and has been able to get free donuts for our group. After a time we were finding that we had a mess of leftover donuts after the meeting (in fact we’re now getting donuts from two different shops). Well to make a long story short, for about the last month and a half we have been taking those leftovers to downtown Santa Cruz to give to the homeless guys and gals down there. We have even begun to take down bags of brand new socks, (thanks to K-mart, who gave us a great deal) and sweatshirts too. My request, as is the request of some of those downtown is for blankets. I was wondering if there is anyone who has an extra blanket or two, and if so, if they would like to take part in helping to spread God’s love, as well as helping to keep these loved ones warm during these cold months. If they want they can email me at
Anyone out there who can help Tony out with this great cause?
