Chi Alpha Campus Ministries of Bethany College presents a day of fasting and prayer from January 24 through Janutary 25.
Highlights will include a city-wide prayer walk in Scotts Valley from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and an “Insomniac” all night worship session from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
What Is The Day of Prayer?
In the past, the Day of Prayer has served as a major catalyst of prayer and revival for Bethany’s community. It has been a time for each student, staff and faculty member to re-examine his/her relationship with Christ and allow God to re-light his/her inner fire; for “He is our consuming fire!” (Hebrews 12:28).
In the past, the Day of Prayer has been limited to strictly the Bethany campus. This year, the organizers feel that the time has come to impact not only their campus but their society and world. This event is not an attempt to raise Scotts Valley’s awareness of our college of its affiliates, but rather to raise awareness of the power of Jesus Christ. The organizers believe that a God as powerful and loving as Jesus Christ must be taught and preached not only with the confines of their (college) community but throughout the homes, businesses and schools of Scotts Valley, Santa Cruz, and eventually the world.
The organizers prayer that this event will function as a spark of revival that will burn with passion for Jesus Christ throughout churches and cities as a whole.
