Love INC is a fantastic organization that networks the Church in Santa Cruz County to meet the needs of the poor. Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) is: 1) a strategy to help churches help their neighbors in need; 2) a network of churches that links volunteers to people in need; 3) a cooperative effort between churches and service agencies to provide effective help for the disadvantaged; and, 4) a vehicle that helps churches, collectively and individually, fulfill their biblical mandate to reach out to the poor and needy.
Bill Carlsberg, the Executive Director of the Santa Cruz County chapter of Love INC, recently wrote us about an urgent need of the ministry - storage containers to be able to respond to an increase of requests to provide household items for those coming out of the homeless lifestyle and recovery programs. Love INC has been offered two storage containers at cost and land where they can place the containers at no cost, but they need help from the body of Christ in Santa Cruz to purchase the containers.
