WHAT'S YOUR PERSPECTIVE?

Our hope is that ChristianCruz will become a participatory news service for the Christian community in our region of the world so that notices of events, for example, can be followed up with reports of how the Lord accomplished His purposes at those events. As believers learn of events through ChristianCruz, they can attend those events and then return to this website to report on the Lord’s work. Comments allow you to report such follow-up news right here on ChristianCruz.com. If you have any questions about how to use these features, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Please note: to prevent inappropriate messages (often called "comment spam"), comments will not appear on the site until they have been approved by our staff. Thank you very much for your understanding.

An Update On The Core

The Core Director Kim Clary recently reported on recent activities and events organized by this great organization for youth on the East Side of Santa Cruz.

“It was a wonderful summer for The Core!! The Run Swim Run brought in around $2000 thanks to generous donations from people like Tom Mader that offset a lot of our costs.

“We receive $1500 for helping out with The Sandman Triathlon. We had over 30 people come out early morning and direct traffic and cheer on the racers on the bike course. It was a lot of fun and everyone went home with a beautiful event T- Shirt.

“Thank you so very much to all of you that helped out. It was heartwarming to see all of you out there supporting The Core. You guys rock!!!

“We had 2 very successful movie nights. We watched North Shore and Labyrinth on a screen hung on the wharf as we sat in the sand. Each night had between 50 and 75 people! If the weather stays nice we will have at least one more after school starts.

“Look for round 2 of the much anticipated Core dance party sometime in October. I can’t wait to see everyone’s moves smile

“The Core Schralpfest is on hold until they finish the seawall at the point. We can’t get a permit till they are done.

“Keep your eyes open for an EBay driven fundraising opportunity.

“The building search is still on. Mike Perkins of Barry Swenson Builders is in charge of the East Cliff Village Shopping Center project and he’s interested in what we are up to (as are many in our community). I will keep you updated on the progress. In the meantime we need to keep busy with events and activities to prove to those watching that we need a permanent home.”
