Easter is quickly approaching and churches throughout the county will be holding special services and musicals to present the story of Christ to our community. Here is a sampling of the special events of which we are aware:
Aptos Christian Fellowship
Aptos Christian Fellowship presents: The Day He Wore My Crown. An Easter musical at 10:00 a.m. on Easter. Also a kid’s Easter celebration and egg hunt which includes, stories, crafts, games, and an egg hunt for all ages.
Boulder Creek Community Church
Boulder Creek Community Church will be holding their Easter services at 8:30 and 10:00 a.m.
Calvary Chapel Aptos
Calvary Chapel Aptos will have a Good Friday service at noon on April 14, a Sonrise service with baptism at Rio Del Mar Beach on Easter Sunday (sunrise will be at 6:32 a.m. on that day, so arrive a bit earlier), and its regular 10:00 a.m. service on Sunday as well. The regular 10 a.m. service will feature special music.
Calvary Chapel Santa Cruz
Calvary Chapel Santa Cruz will be having an Easter Sunrise Service, in addition to their regular Sunday morning worship service. The Sunrise service will be held at Twin Lakes State Beach, (7th Avenue @ East Cliff) at 6:30 a.m., and will be followed by a baptism.
Christ Lutheran Church
Christ Lutheran in Aptos will be holding their Good Friday service on April 14 at 7:00 p.m., and Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. at Rio del Mar beach, and their Easter Worship Service at 8:30 a.m. (followed by an Easter egg hunt for children).
Gateway Bible Church
Gateway Bible will be having a Good Friday service on April 14 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. and three Easter services on April 16 at 6:45 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 10:45 a.m. Consult the news page on the church’s website for more details.
Green Valley Christian Center
Over 100 choir and orchestra members will present The Choice, a dramatic Easter musical, on Palm Sunday weekend. Visit the church website for more information.
New Hope
New Hope in Scotts Valley will be offering a free community Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 15 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. and then holding their Easter service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 16.
Redwood Christian Center
Redwood Christian will present their Glory of Easter program on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Santa Cruz Bible Church
Santa Cruz Bible will be holding Good Friday services on April 14 at 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. and Easter services on Saturday, April 15 at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 16 at 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m.
The Coastlands
The Coastlands will present several performances of Our Stories Told, an Easter presentation. Watch the church website for more information as the dates of the performances approach.
